The original currency of the Ethereum blockchain. It is used to pay gas fees, which are the fees paid to miners to process and validate a transaction on the blockchain. Because block space on the Ethereum network is limited, a busier network leads to higher gas fees, as miners must be compensated more to include a transaction in the next block.
